Australian Aluminium Finishing enters voluntary administration

Australian Aluminium Finishing has entered voluntary administration, appointing Nick Combis of Vincents as administrator on 7 January 2026, amid mounting cost pressures and liquidity strain across its national operations.
The company operates finishing facilities in Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne, and provides anodising and powder coating services for architectural aluminium across Australia and parts of Southeast Asia. It employs up to 200 staff and has been active in large-scale commercial and civic projects, with operations spanning multiple production sites.
The administration follows a period of escalating input costs, including energy, which is understood to have materially affected cash flow. Employees were notified shortly after the Christmas shutdown that operations had been paused, with the administrator now assessing options to stabilise the business and explore a potential sale or recapitalisation within the administration period.
Australian Aluminium Finishing counts major aluminium systems suppliers among its key customers, heightening the relevance of the appointment for the broader construction and building products supply chain. The company’s director is listed as Sydney-based William Anthony Wyllie.
The first meeting of creditors is scheduled for 18 January 2026. A winding-up application filed by Alpha Chemicals in December is also listed to be heard in the Supreme Court of Victoria on 28 January 2026.
