Lorraine Lea Linen - Voluntary Administration

Lorraine Lea Linen, an iconic Australian linen and homewares retailer that was also one of Australia’s first major multi-level marketing schemes, entered voluntary administration on 26 August.

The Melbourne-headquartered, family-run company has been in business for almost 40 years and operates in the direct selling industry, working with brand ambassadors called “Lorraine Lea independent stylists” who promote Lorraine Lea products with their networks through social media and linen parties.

At one point, the company boasted having 1,300 stylists and holding 40,000 parties a year to more than 300,000 customers.

Administrators Andrew Yeo and Tim Bradd of Pitcher Partners are continuing to trade the business as they prepare the company for sale.
