Therapy Focus enters voluntary administration amid NDIS pricing pressures

NDIS funding cuts push major WA disability services provider into administration

Robert Kirman and Robert Brauer of McGrathNicol were appointed voluntary administrators of Therapy Focus Ltd on 9 October 2025, after the directors of the Western Australian disability therapy provider cited sustained financial pressure caused by cuts to National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) pricing.

Founded in 1998 as a not-for-profit community organisation, Bentley-based Therapy Focus operates 14 clinics across Perth and the South West, employing around 300 staff and servicing more than 4,000 clients through occupational, speech and other therapy programs. The administrators said the organisation will continue trading while they explore a sale or partnership to secure the business’s long-term future, emphasising that all staff and services will be maintained during the process.

The decision reportedly followed “significant draw-downs on limited equity” after repeated government pricing changes eroded revenue, including a multi-million-dollar reduction in annual income after July’s NDIS therapy rate cuts. The group posted a $2.05 million loss on $31.3 million in revenue in FY2024, with total liabilities of $11.7 million but no secured bank debt.

Administrator Rob Kirman said McGrathNicol had sufficient funding to support operations for an extended period while engaging with potential buyers or partners, and that the administrators expect strong interest in the business.
