BCN Events Group - Liquidation

BCN Events Group, a hospitality group headquartered in Queensland which operates several hospitality businesses including the Lumiere Culinary Studio, Mica, King Street Bakery and a commercial production kitchen in Brisbane, entered liquidation on 28 May.
The bakery empire was owned by Queensland chef and business owner Shannon Kellam, who also runs certain other restaurants and cafes which remain unaffected.
Mark Holland, Jamie Harris and Anthony Connelly of McGrathNicol were appointed liquidators, with Holland stating that a preliminary review had revealed that the collapse was likely caused by the headwinds facing the hospitality industry.
They are currently assessing options on an urgent basis, but have advised that there will be a disruption to the Group’s ongoing operations, with the Mica and King Street Bakery establishments remaining closed. They are currently working with affected staff (approximately 90 were employed across seven locations), customers and suppliers.
