Brindabella Christian College - Voluntary Administration

Brindabella Christian College, a private Christian school with about 1,000 students across two campuses in Canberra, entered voluntary administration on 5 March.
The school has struggled to pay its creditors in recent months, including employees who have faced wage delays. The college also reportedly owes $8 million to the ATO, which has brought its own winding up application. The federal education department also recently revealed that the school had been affected by governance issues, and that it had been planning to revoke the school board’s approved authority status which would have caused the college to stop receiving federal funding.
Sam Marsden and Sal Algeri of Deloitte were appointed voluntary administrators and said that the college will continue to operate on a business-as-usual basis, and that staff will be paid back wages owing as well as their wages going forward.
