Companies owed hundreds of thousands of dollars by Whyalla Ports fear debts will never be paid

The South Australian government's move to clarify Whyalla port's ownership by introducing amendments to legislation in parliament has caused a stir among companies still owed money by Whyalla Steelworks. This includes NRW, the parent company of Golding's, which provides mining services to the attached Whyalla steelworks mine, which has expressed disappointment over the state government's second intervention, saying the “unprecedented intervention by the South Australian government will seriously impair and undermine Golding's security over Whyalla Ports”.
