Darlinghurst Theatre Company - Voluntary Administration

Darlinghurst Theatre Company, a Sydney-based theatre company formed over 30 years ago, entered voluntary administration on 17 June.

On its website, the company boasts that it has become one of the largest employers of artists and arts workers in the small-to-medium, not-for-profit sector. It is supported through the City of Sydney’s Accommodation Program and the NSW Government, through Arts NSW.

Jonathon Keenan and Peter Krejci of BRI Ferrier were appointed administrators.

According to a statement on the company’s website, all trading has been suspended due to “the company’s financial position” and no events will go forward until further notice. Ticketholders are urged to explore options to recover their funds via a chargeback through their credit card provider.
