ER Industrial formerly trading as Energy Renaissance - Voluntary Administration

ER Industrial formerly trading as Energy Renaissance, a battery manufacturing company with plans to build a gigawatt-scale battery factory in the Hunter Region of NSW, entered voluntary administration on 13 August.
The company was working towards launching a 4,500 square metre, solar powered manufacturing plant.
In September 2022, it met a crucial funding milestone for the plant when its pilot project—a plant in Tomago—successfully reached its goal of producing up to 4MWh of Australian-made batteries a month. However, Stewart Free and Bradd Morelli from Jirsch Sutherland were appointed voluntary administrators after a major investor pulled out from the project, leaving the company in a cash crisis. The administrators have said they are reviewing whether legal recourse may be available against the investor.
