Healthscope lenders face crucial vote on hospital giant’s future

Healthscope’s lenders have entered a seven-day voting period on a revised takeover proposal from a Calvary-led consortium, which is competing with a lender-owned “PurposeCo” restructuring that would convert the hospital group into a not-for-profit, with receiver McGrathNicol overseeing the process for lenders owed about $1.6 billion to $1.8 billion and current recoveries estimated at roughly 40 cents in the dollar.
