Hundreds of jobs in jeopardy as Australian women's shoe retail chain Famous Footwear to shut down

Famous Footwear, a 25-year-old women’s shoe retailer with 17 stores across Australia’s eastern states and more than 200 employees, has announced it will permanently close its online and physical operations by early 2026, marking another retail exit following the recent collapse of Sydney-based Nike franchisee AF1.
