Ian Cubitt's Classic Home Improvements trading as Cubitt’s Granny Flats and Home Extensions - Voluntary Administration

Ian Cubitt's Classic Home Improvements trading as Cubitt’s Granny Flats and Home Extensions, a construction company that worked in NSW and the ACT, entered voluntary administration on 26 February.

The company, which has been in business for 30 years, cited the burden of bank lending conditions, supply prices, taxation changes, insurance prices, COVID-19 recovery and lengthy weather events as the reasons for its collapse.

Richard Stone and Brett Lord of RSM were appointed as administrators and said that 120 projects would be impacted by the company’s collapse.

The majority of the company’s 80 staff have been stood down, with some retained to assist the administration process.

200 creditors owed $3.8 million have been identified to date.

The administrators are seeking expressions of interest for the business.
