Main Facilities trading as Main Industries - Voluntary Administration

Main Facilities trading as Main Industries, a NSW-based construction contractor whose biggest client was the state government, entered voluntary administration on 13 March.

George Bancs, the company’s sole director, blamed the government for the company’s issues, saying its pipeline of government work had dried up abruptly due to a government freeze on spending, which the government has denied.

Administrator Mohammad Najjar of Vanguard Insolvency said that he has not identified the cause of the company’s failure, but is asking creditors to send evidence, such as payment plans and bounced cheques, so that the date of insolvency can be established.

The ATO, owed $2.4 million, is the largest creditor.

All staff were made redundant shortly before the appointment.
