Majestic Cinemas - Voluntary Administration

Majestic Cinemas, a cinema chain with nine locations across Queensland and New South Wales, entered voluntary administration on 31 January.
The company has faced a challenging few years, having been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, cost-of-living pressures as well as natural disasters such as floods and fires in recent years. In addition, the Hollywood strikes impacted how many movies could be shown, which led to a loss of revenue.
Terry van der Velde and Terrence Rose of SV Partners were appointed as joint administrators.
At this stage, all locations remain open and are selling tickets to customers.
