Mercedes-loving biotech boss goes bankrupt, leaves country

Trustees from Worrells are opposing the bankruptcy discharge of George Syrmalis, a biotechnology chief executive who earned more than $10 million from now collapsed life-science companies. The trustees note that Dr Syrmalis, a yachting aficionado with a penchant for luxury cars, “left Australia shortly before their appointment and has not returned”.
