N.W.T.'s Ekati mine set to shut down as it enters receivership

Burgundy Diamond Mines’ Canadian subsidiary Arctic Canadian Diamond Company has entered receivership after failing to secure a buyer through creditor protection proceedings, with PwC appointed to oversee the closure, care and maintenance, and eventual reclamation of the Ekati diamond mine, which employs about 340 people.
