New Wilkie Energy - Administration

New Wilkie Energy, a Queensland coal miner which owns the Wilkie Creek mine near Dalby, entered administration on 27 December. The company bought the mine in 2021 and said it would produce 2.4 million tonnes of coal annually for Asian markets. The mine was brought out of care and maintenance and production was restarted just eight months ago. Andrew Cummins, Jonathon Keenan, Peter Krejci and Stefan Dopking of BRI Ferrier were appointed joint administrators and are reportedly considering options for the business while it continues to trade.
