The Non Alcoholic Drinks Co Pty Ltd t/as Sans Drinks - Voluntary Administration

The Non Alcoholic Drinks Co Pty Ltd t/as Sans Drinks, Australia’s first physical non-alcoholic bottle shop and online superstore, entered voluntary administration on 17 July. The company was launched in 2020 by Irene Falcone, who was frustrated with the low quality, sugar loaded non-alcoholic alternatives that were available in supermarkets and bottle shops. Andrew Spring and Peter Moore of Jirsch Sutherland were appointed joint administrators. According to Spring, the company experienced challenging trading conditions and suffered a dramatic decrease in sales due to a range of factors including the non-essential nature of the product, growing cost of living pressures impacting on discretionary spending habits, and customers moving away from e-commerce post-Covid. The company was in the process of expansion, which included rolling up competitors and establishing its own brands, which has used up the working capital. Falcone injected money into the business and is the largest creditor, owed approximately $1 million.
