North Qld Anglican diocese given green light to sell properties to pay compensation

The Anglican Diocese of North Queensland, which entered receivership in August 2025, has obtained Supreme Court approval to implement a staged sale of church properties to address National Redress Scheme liabilities estimated to reach $11 million by 2028, with the court warning the diocese would otherwise become insolvent by May absent asset realisations.
