Qartaba Homes - Liquidation

Qartaba Homes, a Western Sydney builder that marketed itself as the first developer to provide interest-free housing, was placed into liquidation on 24 October.

Aaron Lucan of Worrells, previously the voluntary administrator, was appointed liquidator.

Hundreds of families reportedly provided investments to the company in connection with housing projects in North-Western Sydney, Ipswich city in South-East Queensland and Tarneit in Melbourne over the past decade.

The last posts on the company’s Facebook page from 2023 indicate that civil works were at various stages of completion at the projects.

Barry Kogan, Damien Pasfield and Robert Smith of McGrathNicol were previously appointed receivers on 2 August.
