Southern Cross Farms - Voluntary Administration

Southern Cross Farms, one of Australia’s largest poultry farms growing free-range chickens, entered voluntary administration on 5 August, with Glenn Franklin and Paul Allen of PKF Melbourne appointed administrators.

The company converted to free-range production in 2015 and rears chickens for the Lilydale brand, acting as one of the largest suppliers of free-range chickens for Baiada Poultry, one of Australia’s largest processors.

In October 2024, the business hit the market with a price expectation north of $20 million, but it does not appear to have resulted in any acceptable offers. It is now back on the market as part of the administration process, with Colliers appointed as exclusive selling agent.
