Supercare Dental & Cosmetics Kotara, Supercare Dental & Cosmetics Tuggerah and Usman Dental trading as Super Care Dental & Cosmetics - Voluntary Administration

Supercare Dental & Cosmetics Kotara, Supercare Dental & Cosmetics Tuggerah and Usman Dental trading as Super Care Dental & Cosmetics, a group of dental clinics whose business model was based on helping patients apply to the tax office for early access to their superannuation to pay for dental services, entered voluntary administration on 14 April, with Domenic Calabretta, Mathieu Tribut and Richard Lawrence of Mackay Goodwin appointed as administrators.

There are reportedly over 400 patients who paid over $2.1 million for dental work that has not been delivered at the Kotara and Tuggerah clinics, the latter of which entered liquidation on 29 May. Supercare was also reportedly struggling to pay its dentists, some of whom are now describing the business model as "predatory" and "aggressive". Meanwhile, hundreds of patients have been left with unfinished treatments and drained superannuation accounts, sparking concern over the use of superannuation to fund medical and dental procedures.
