As tax and superannuation debts grow, ATO issues tens of thousands of director penalty notices that could send more people bankrupt

The ATO is increasingly holding company directors personally liable for unpaid superannuation and tax debts, issuing 13,454 director penalty notices and 2,881 garnishee notices between July 1, 2023, and February 29, 2024.
