Trucking company found responsible for Melbourne freeway tragedy will never pay $2.31 million fine

Trucking company Connect Logistics, which was found to be responsible for a tragic crash that killed four police officers on the Eastern Freeway in April 2020, cannot pay a $2.3 million fine or legal costs from the incident. The company entered liquidation in December 2023, with liquidator Stephen Hundy of Worrells saying the crash was the beginning of the demise of the company, which had no assets to convert into cash to pay the fine.
