Wayward Brewing - Voluntary Administration

Wayward Brewing, a Sydney craft brewer which recently launched a “Recession Ale”, entered voluntary administration on 2 January. Atle Crowe-Maxwell from DBA Reconstruction and Advisory was appointed administrator, and said that the cost of living, rising input costs and the increase to the alcohol tax contributed to the brewery’s decline. In October, the company partnered with Batch Brewing to create Local Drinks Collective, a beer cooperative. Mr Crowe-Maxwell was also appointed administrator of Local Drinks Collective and is continuing to trade the brewery. Batch Brewing is not involved in the administration process.
