Western Food Group - Liquidation

Western Food Group, which operates four The Bunker cafes across Penrith and the Blue Mountains, entered liquidation on 20 November.

The move follows a challenging period for the company’s director, Ross Purser, with his divorce reportedly playing a role in the decision.

Trent McMillen and Ernie Chou of Mac Insolvency were appointed liquidators. They have yet to comment on the reasons for the company’s insolvency, but said they are negotiating with interested parties to see if the cafes can resume trading.

The timing of the liquidation is unfortunate with the holiday season soon approaching, as many events, including weddings and Christmas parties, hang in the balance.

The company reportedly employs 118 staff, all of whom have been stood down.
