Whyalla steelworks administrator wants to secure buyer for site by end of year

Whyalla Steelworks administrators Mark Mentha, Sebastian Hams, Michael Korda and Lara Wiggins of KordaMentha have identified up to a dozen interested parties as they seek to secure a sale of the business by the end of the year. In the meantime, they have retained an additional 63 workers because the site was so understaffed and had fallen into such disrepair that workers had been forced to resort to ingenuity and sometimes their own capital to keep the business alive.
