Ian Cubitt's Classic Home Improvements trading as Cubitt’s Granny Flats and Home Extensions - Liquidation

Ian Cubitt's Classic Home Improvements trading as Cubitt’s Granny Flats and Home Extensions, a construction company that worked in NSW and the ACT and has been business for 30 years, has entered liquidation.

The company previously entered voluntary administration in February, citing the burden of bank lending conditions, supply prices, taxation changes, insurance prices, COVID-19 recovery and lengthy weather events.

In March, administrators advised that almost 40 parties had expressed an interest in buying the company. Since then, NSW-based construction firm Acrow Homes purchased some of Cubitt’s assets and its creditors have now voted to liquidate the company.

Richard Stone and Brett Lord of RSM, who were previously the company’s administrators, were appointed liquidators.

The collapse impacts over 120 uncompleted projects and 80 staff members who have lost their jobs.
