‘Makes my blood boil’: Fury as boss keeps firm after $40m debt

Rockhampton engineering group SMW, whose trading entity Alertvale entered administration in September owing more than $40 million including $17 million in tax, has avoided liquidation through a DOCA backed by director John William “Jack” Trenaman, despite administrators flagging potential insolvent trading exposure of up to $29.7 million and possible Corporations Act breaches that will now not be investigated.
